FYI - Queen bees do have stingers - Drones don’t, because they’re male. Any female bee, wasp or hornet can sting you if they’re threatened. The stinger is the females reproductive organ - The male has an aedeagus (basically a peepus) and not a stinger :) This hornet is most likely a Drone, to all those saying it’s probably a Queen.

Hornets are pretty docile UNTIL you piss them off. We had a European hornet Queen land on my friends tractor. We picked it up and gently moveitto a hedge

I've had an American hornet land on me a couple of times. They're really not that scary, so long as you don't give them a reason to harm you.

Im a bug freak and often hold tarantulas, snails, worms and beetles, but i say NO NO NO NO NO NO i would never do this

I remember having wasps and bumble bees gently crawl on my hand also when I was young.
They would only sting if you provoked them, or startled them well enough.
