Ten Day Forecast: Gruesome Twosome Possible Next Week?

Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to today's ten day forecast video update. We're going to look at the weather for the next ten to fourteen days. Day ten will take us to 17th January - and we'll be able to extend out beyond that with the extended GFS and ECM ensembles (they run to around a couple of weeks) We'll have a look at CFS V2 for the next four weeks getting us to the start of February at the end of the video...

Cold northerly winds have returned as the weekend low pressure has moved out into the north sea. This week will be cold and wintry with snow showers and night frost. Looking ahead to the weekend and next week high pressure will be developing close to the country so. Some models want to keep things mostly cold with more frost while other models want to draw up very mild southwesterly winds. Todays model output perhaps suggests a mild start to next week before high pressure builds back strongly and brings an increasing risk of the gruesome twosome - Frost and Fog!

Seems to have been a bit of a pattern this season - anti-cyclonic gloom seems to be repeating more times than a UKTV show.

We need a serious change in the weather for us in south west. We have so much rainfall, the ground is so soggy and isn’t getting any drier. Fed up with the windy conditions here. I’m chatting to the weather gods😊
