Thank god this video exists!
Nobody seems to really care about this feature, and I was worried I had to downgrade to 2.74 for the game engine and do some coding, but no no no, it was a built-in feature all along.

You helped me not waste additional hours trying to figure things out
Thx a lot <3

Oh my god, THANK Navigating through an interior model was something that made me scream until I found this.

It's worth mentioning that if you hit ESC, you get back to your previous position (before activating FPS navigation) but if you press ENTER or click LMB, you stay where you finished. At least in Blender 2.90. Dunno how about 2.80 cuz it's already history, right? ;)
PS Also, use scroll wheel while flying to control speed.

If you use scroll on ur mouse u can manually change ur speed in that mode. so holding e/q makes you go up and down

Thanks so much for this video! Right when I saw this video it was a great technique. Actually I was looking how to do this, thanks for this though! This was the best blender animation tutorial I ever watched!

I must add that this feature is really useful in many situations. Let say that you are working in Unreal engine as environment artist and you need to model some building with certain complex pillars and other similar elements inside. You will probably need to check the scene before you export it in UE, so that you are sure that everything fits well. Well, in most 3D programs, actually it is very hard to navigate with camera inside certain complex, especially if the room is small. Object focus in Blender by default is awful, so very often this feature is my savior. Of course we can hide certain elements during the modeling, but there is a lot of situations when you'll work on the environment or interior and you'll need to check whole scene. So by using this feature we can actually walk around and check is it everything properly positioned which is very useful. I am surprised that other 3D modeling tools don't have this feature yet.

First person mode is super slow for me on Mac. I can't figure out how to make it move a useful speed. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the video!

Thank you very much Sir.. Is there any way to increase the height after toggling on the Gravity? It seems to be bit lower after turning on Gravity.

Is there any way to connect the camera to your view so when you walk around the camera will be tracked to your view?

TutsByKai : "And I can also go ahead and hit shift to move much faster, back and forth"
Also TutsByKai : **Moves left and right**

Itt says a lot about devs when they expect users to basically learn an entirely new system. Do you know if other 3d programs are more consistent?

If you don't like the new controls you can switch back to 2.7X controls
