I have been following you and I have just collected my 2021 Kia e Niel 4+ with 11, 600 miles, It is my first time driving an automatic / Electric car and I drove it from where I collected it 4.5 hours to my home. It is a dream to drive looking and very very happy forward to many happy miles.😊

What a car. I'm a bit envious of your 4+ as those ventilated seats would have been welcome for our Italian trip!

Fabulous proof - if anyone still needs it! You must be nuts to but a new diesel or petrol car now

Great video Jonathan. I bought a 2021 Soul First Edition last week which I think is based on the same tech? Only 4k miles on it. Hope my experience matches yours going forward. Your videos have given me confidence to make the switch, thank you!!

Bought my 4+ in June, so 1 month after you. I have to agree it's a fantastic car. Decided to keep it beyond 3yrs as does everything I need a car to do brilliantly.
Not had any issues in the 3+ years, just three alloys changed under warranty due to the dreaded white worm which I've found is a Kia / Hyundai known issue.
Never had an issue with the 12v. Saying that, my Leaf is 4 1/2yrs old and never had an issue with that 12v either.

Hi Jonathan thankyou so much for all the videos you make on the e-Niro, by brother in law has a 4+ and loves it and i am about to get one seconds hand. Did the 4's have heat pumps or was it just the 4+. I have found your videos so helpful.

The MPGE of EVs is something very few of the anti-EV’ers take into account when decrying EVs, Even my AWD new Mini Countryman S E can easily exceed 150mpgE and mostly it’s been getting 180mpgE this summer. I like watching channels like Out of Spec and love it when they show huge American pickups that in ICE form might see 15mpg on a good day but in EV form see 80mpgE regularly and even on a bad day 1mile/kWh is still 40mpgE!

Thanks Jonathan. I do volunteer driving in my 4 year old e-Niro with payment of running the car of 45 pence per mile (tax threshold since 2011). I have Octopus Go and there is no way that I could afford to do it with a fossil-fuel car (even the extra insurance cost is a myth). I have just booked the 70, 000 mile service at the same time as I had to have the 12v battery replaced. As for re-sale value? Why would I sell it inside the 7 year warranty period? You didn't mention wear on the brake system!

Great video having had the E NIRO myself I agree with your thoughts. It would be interesting to know the state of health of the battery at that 40, 000 mile stage. The best range I managed out of mine in the summertime was 329 miles. Photographed to prove it.

Interesting stats in spreadsheet. As a fellow Blue 2021 E-Niro owner. Just mine has a mere 16K on the clock. Worst range 290 miles, best 324 on the GOM. Which is pretty much spot on for me.

Great video and stats. I’m so definitely swapping out my 48000 mile 2020 Ioniq electric premium se for a 4+ E Niro and same blue as yours. Can you still buy at auction for us or have to go to Eco Cars?

Nice one JP. You certainly get better miles per kWh than we get on our new shape Motability Niro 4. Having said that it’s still a nice car and things like the HUD and the feature of being able to remotely reverse or drive forward the car using the key fob are great. The latter feature is especially good for me as a wheelchair user to help me access tricky chargers like the older Tesla ones.

If you can charge at home, ideally using some Solar input (as I do) then you stop even monitoring the costs of "fuel". It's too cheap to be bothered counting.
I pay more in fuel for my Lawn Mower than my car. NOTE. I "virtually store" my surplus Solar (via my energy deal here in France) and I "store" about 4, 000 kw/hrs a year.
That's 16, 000 free, Solar, miles for an E-Niro, or £2, 700 saved in petrol using your calculations. Even better than that though .... I never need to do that petrol filling thing, stood in a rainy cold petrol station, handing over a hundred quid for a few days worth of smelly "dinosaur juice".

Great Video Johnathon. My 2019 has just passed 102000 miles. Faults. Sticky charge flap changed under warranty at 45000. Original Battery lasted until 90000. Average has been 4.4.mkwh.

Hi Jonathan. I believe from a previous conversation that my eNiro was an ex Orkney Reflex car I purchased from Arval as an ex lease car. I have found a geotab unit in my car but have no idea how to retrieve the data from it. Geotab website is not much help as I have no log in details. Did email Arval but no response as yet. Would like to retrieve this info if possible - any help would be appreciated and please keep up with the videos. Thanks.

Hi Jonathan, I noticed you mentioned purchasing outright after your lease ? Do you feel the pricing was based on what the vehicle was worth at the time or what it owed the finance company ? I’m thinking those two pricing methods could give different results in a volatile market.

Was it easy to buy after the lease ended? Reason being we’ve just taken delivery of an EV lease car and like it so far.thank you 😊

A lot of people can't get an EV tariff, me included, because our "smart" meters will not communicate due to a weak WAN signal, I'm not even in a particularly remote part of Caithness. I still pay less to charge two cars (one is my son's Ioniq Classic, he was quite smug when you said you've averaged 4miles/kWhr!) power and heat the house and swimming pool than I did just to put petrol in my last ICE, but an EV tariff would save me £1500/year and it's really me off!

Very fair with your figures!
Winter tyres are all noisy compared to summer tyres.
