Medusa was a mortal woman, Poseidon is a GOD. How the heck was she supposed to keep her vow of chastity when Poseidon is much more stronger than her? She couldn't do anything to stop him, including injuring him as she wasn't strong enough.

This just proves that monsters aren't born. They're made, and then they are expected to apologize for what someone else made them.

Actualy in original story AThena turned her in to Medusa to keep her safe from any further harm as she could do litle against Poseidon, the story was later twisted by Athena's haters

Wow, I feel terrible for Medusa.
- She was envied
- She was raped
- She was ostracized
- She was severely punished for something that was out of her control
- She was made an outcast
- and the she was decapitated

All this done by the Gods them selves.

Wow, poor Medusa😔😢😭

So, even then raped women weren't believed and accused of causing the act. And of course another woman condemned her. Medusa was more beautiful than Athena or Poisiden would have raped Athena was jealous!!!

And that is why Athena is my second hated Greek God, and oh how I wish she endured what Medusa did

If the greek goddess of wisdom's level of being wise was this high, then kratos' actions are justified.

Her 2 children were Pegasus and Chrysaor. They sprang up immediately from the blood from her beheading.

In my heart medusa is a beautiful.strong.smart.woman and not a monster she is a hero in my heart and no one. Can change that

As an adult I realize Medusa was not evil...she was a victim further punished for being R*ped. She then was murdered by a dude claiming to be a hero. A hero wouldn't murder a r*pe victim

The more i learn about Greek mythology, the more i feel Mimir saying "the pantheon had it coming" was a huge understatement.

I think the most powerful thing about Medusa's story is that in modern times, it has taken on a much different lesson to the one it had so long ago. Whereas before, Medusa's story was used meant to objectify women and dehumanize their suffering as a result of their beauty, it now is a cautionary tale about that former culture and how it must be changed. Medusa deserved so much better, and we know that now.

Medusa and her sisters, Euryale and Stheno, belong to the race of Gorgons in Greek mythology. They were born to the primordial sea-god Phorcys and his sister and wife, Ceto, deities of the hidden dangers of the deep and large sea creatures, respectively. The Gorgons are said to be monstrous creatures with sharp fangs, claws, scaly skin and venomous snakes for hair. Medusa was the youngest of the Gorgon sisters and was the only mortal sister. She was hunted and killed by Perseus, who cut off her head and used it to turn his enemies to stone before handing it over to Athena, who adorned her chest plate with it.

Getting punished while innocent and loyal, what a cruel life to live.

He wasn't fulling Athena's punishment. Athena was scared to look into the eyes of the woman she cursed for she too might turn to stone. So, she sent someone else to do the deed for her.

I feel like Athena secretly wanted to help her, so instead of a curse, the goddess gave her the gift to defend herself against those who wronged Medusa. But mortals took it the wrong way and labeled Medusa as a monster because she was defending herself. And due to the misunderstanding she was beheaded.
