Not enough things that talk about Medusa actually convey that her story isn't about a monster, it's about a woman that suffers a Horrible fate that is just made Worse by the very Goddess she worshipped. Medusa was betrayed twice over. She's not a Monster, she's a victim of betrayal

Actually, that's one of the later versions in the original myth she and her two sisters were daughters of Poseidon, and that's why there are three gorgons, not one, and they were born monsters. Even in the later greek stories where she had sex with Poseidon, it was consensual, it wasnt until the Romans started mucking around with the myth that it became rape.
