In the late 1950's this was a tremendous symbol of national pride. The plane caused a huge wave of public notice and strong approval. The B 58 found its way into consumer product advertising in the 1958 to 60
period....

In April of 1966, I stayed with a family at the Peru Airforce base in Dayton Ohio. There was a plane doing engine runs and I can only think that the noise was from the Hustlers that were stationed there. Working all my life on aircraft it was a sound that I'd not heard before or since. Wonder if someone can confirm that it had a strange roar. Don't think it would have been the Crusaders that were also there or the B52's Best Dave

As a teenage model builder, it was clear this was the COOLEST plane of the time. But it had limited payload and was sometimes dangerous to fly. So it's limited lifespan. The even older B52 is still flying!

She looked good, went well so why did it go out of service so early? Air worthiness?
Dump the sound track.

That musak is annoyingly loud and unnecessary.
