Hey Guys,

I have some updated and innovative backpacking gear for 2020 that could help you out. Backpacking gear us constantly changing and upgrading. I show the latest Petzl Headlamp...the IKO Core and we see the new frame design called the Airfit Headband that makes this work for trail runners as well as backpackers.Next we check out the Sea to Summit Delta plate, very durable light and show how it nests with my other cook ware to create a compact set! Full Windsor has a great 3 in 1 cook tool called the Splitter that combine a spork/ spatula and tongs into 1. Also take a look at the MSR Canister Stand and the Coghlans Egg case to carry eggs in the back country!

I flip my sea to summit plate over and use the textured bottom as a cutting surface when preparing food, it works great, its safer, and it keeps the inside surface of the plate super smooth and scratch free to keep it easy to clean which is one of the good things about this plate.

The only drawback to that Petzl is that it doesn’t fold down. Too bulky. Def good for runners. 👍

Hmmm...lovin that headlamp. Thanks for sharing! I have a feeling it is going to be a while before we can get out into the backcountry. I guess I will be looking forward to some late season and winter backpacking.

I got that exact pad after using a therm a rest airpad which was awful! Like sleeping on a crinkling balloon! Both my wife and I tried it and hated it. The self inflating is marginally larger, but actually comfortable enough to sleep on! (priceless). Quite, and not constantly feel like going to roll or bounce off. So do I carry more to actually sleep?? Heck yes!

I would have to recommend two changes based on personal experience with these products:

1) Sleeping Pad: Thermarest Apex - It’s slightly lighter, packs up smaller, more durable, and more comfortable than the Nemo Flyer counterpart. Often goes on sale for <$100 on Amazon

2) Headlamp: Nightcore NU25 - Lighter, simpler, cheaper, and more power efficient. Truly the gold standard for headlamps

This video is going to cost me some money, thanks, I think.

Well the pad is nice. That headlamp tho. Not sure what to think about it. It reminds me of the google glass and how every thought it was gonna be the future. Very unique design

I thought I had one on you Chris. I discovered that the Jet Boil pan nested inside the Sea To Summit plate the other day but you beat me to it...lol. Camping in West Virginia this weekend and looking forward to it...Jeff

I’ve had a couple Petzl headlamps over the years. I’m curious how that headband will hold up, also doesn’t look very packable/squishable.

Good headlamp but too expensive for me. Thanks
