I'm Farrah from bookstalgic and I have rediscovered my love of reading again in my 40s. :)
I try to find any time I can to squeeze in my love of reading into my busy life of work and family. :). I love talking lots of walks in nature to try to appreciate all that I can each day.

Favorite genres: it's mixed bag of Classics, Sci-Fi, Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery/Thriller, Classic Horror (not too scary lol), Nature/Environment, Non-fiction, Health, History and Speculative/Paranormal Romance

On my channel, you'll find cozy/chill reading vlogs that highlight some of the natural beauty I see outside on my daily walks around our farm.
I try to post 2 vlogs per month as well as a reading wrap up at the end of each month (I sometimes get behind, though!) :)
I am working on doing more individual books reviews and tags as well as participating in some reading events as well.
I hope you enjoy my channel and thank you so much for stopping by!

Last year I read The Count of Monte Cristo and loved it. This year I am halfway through Don Quixote, as a buddy read. It's fantastic. My two favorite Stephen King books so far are, The Stand and Tommyknockers. Both chunky! Good luck with your challenge. I would finish the books you have almost completed (The Bible for instance), so that you have a sense of accomplishment. Happy reading!

The Bible is a great book to read through. It took me 15 months while reading other books as well. I keep picking up Stephen King's "11/22/63" and reading in between other books but I really want to just read it until I'm finished (and forget about all the books I have waiting for me). Happy Summer Reading!!

I actually enjoy channels that focus on reading quality books even if they read one or two books in a month. Just like to hear from people who love to read and don’t worry about wrap ups, the latest releases, ratings, or hyped up new authors.

Ooh, I have Nightmares and Dreamscapes sitting on my short story shelf. I have a long Louise Erdrich collection going now, but I'm thinking I might start Nightmares and Dreamscapes once I finish that one.

I've read Clarrisa! I read it last year with a small group. We read by date of the letters so some days there were LOTS of letters to get through. While i didn't really enjoy my experience some days, now i look back and really love the story. I just wish there was an abridged version.😅

I love Dune!!

I read the Bible using the Bible Recap videos last year. Life changing!! I love the insights the Lord gives her and how she explains it to us. I'm rereading the Bible this year too.

King's 11/22/63 is one of my favorite books!

I love your philosophy of just reading for pleasure and taking the stress off of yourself!

I’m cheering you on! 📣 Those are some very lengthy books but I know you’ll do it. I read The Hobbit this past Fall but that’s as far as I got. I also started reading The Bible years ago but I never completed it. Last month the thought ran through my mind to pick it up again. This time, I will annotate. I have The Priory of The Orange Tree. I really wanted to read that as well but I just Never Do. Enjoy your Summer. Happy Reading. 😊

I read a Tolkien thing each year but I've never read Lotr straight through before. Glad you are reading how you want to Farrah

I read The Hobbit for the first time this spring. I also read my first Stephen King last month and ended up loving it. I read 11/22/63, and I think it will end up being one of my favorite books of the year!

I definitely need to finish some of my half-read books. Great TBR for summer (That Dude's Mom)

Wow, that adds up to a great list! How exciting to be reading one of the first ever novels! I enjoyed Dune through the readalong you mention, though it's exactly as you say, quicker reads with BookTube in mind sort of kill the monentum. I'm Lord of the Rings a chapter at a time out loud and enjoying the revisit - it certainly is a world to be immersed in that's more spacious than the movie. Sounds like you've nearly nailed The Bible. I've stuck with a Bible in a Year podcast since 1 Jan and find I understand it 1000 times better with someone explaining. Enjoy!

So excited for you to read Walking Dead! I love it so much! They read really fast too. My tip is to read the first one all the way through, and then if you have any interest in the TV Show, you should watch season 1 of the show before reading book 2. Season 1 of the show is only 6 episodes and it only covers about 20% of book 1, but if I could go back in time I would love to experience the story both ways together because there are a lot of differences that are so fun!

Great reading plans! I struggle with getting to the big books too. Ahh The Hobbit & LOTR is so good! I hope you enjoy it. :)

Do it!! I love a good long book. I'm currently reading And Ladies of the Club (1400pgs). It's slow paced so I'm stretching it over the summer and aiming to finish on Labor Day for the Big Book Summer Challenge. I like to pair audiobooks with my big books, so I get something else in, but I only listen to them in the car or on walks.

I love big books too. Looking foreword to updates from you this summer. LOTR is on my summer reads. I have not seen the movies or read the books. I did read the Hobbit recently and enjoyed it. I picked up An Immense World a month ago finally and hope to get started soon.

Oh my goodness this video gives me the sweats. I usually shy away from large books which is silly ! I’m missing out on great stories ! Ugh. Now I’m mad at myself. I have to be brave lol. I love The Hobbit. Good luck with all this. I’m sure you will feel so accomplished. Great video, bud. -Joe

Love to hear this! I wish you the best on your summer dives. I just recently picked up the Bible myself along with some complementary resources; I am excited to read what I’ve been avoiding for so long. Also I just recently picked up some multi volume studies on U.S. Grant, R. E. Lee, and Lincoln. Those pretty much represent my absence and book interests at the moment 😭

I love this list and envy you getting to read Lord of the Rings for the first time! Reading the whole Bible through for the first time is very special. You have some beautiful books ahead of you!

Hello, Farrah ✌️ 😃
Good luck with Clarissa!
I'm currently reading the longest book I've ever read. I'll explain more in my June Wrap-Up, but it is a Stephen King biggie. 😊
I too wanna read Lord of the Rings finally.

A different experience being with a book for some time. My longest has been the Count of Monte Cristo. Really enjoyed it but I could not read many pages at once. Shogun I have read three times at 1123 and I could read a lot of that in one go. Happy reading summer.
