What is your favourite headset? I must say the Oculus Quest 2 looks tempting, but I’ll stick with my HP Reverb.

I'm using the Reverb G2 with a 3080 and loving it, I did try a Rift CV1 when they first came out and took it back as I didn't get on with it but the G2 now has me hooked on VR. As I pre-ordered and got a rebate it cost £475 so not too bad.
The quest 2 is an interesting headset and has a lot of advantages outside of simming - for room-scale I would say it must take the fight to the Index as you can use it for PCVR over the wireless link instead of cabled. I'll be keeping an eye on the Decagear as well as that seems to have some interesting features.
I'm hoping that Asobo or a 3rd party come up with some tools which allow VFR navigation and note taking in VR so I can replicate real world VFR flying more accurately. Following your reviews I picked up the FS Academy VFR package and have enjoyed that, be great if that sort of idea can be extended to go through a full PPL course in future so I can augment real word training I want to undertake in the near future.

HP REVERB G2 is amazing, I used it since one week now and flighting experience is enhanced and very immersive in all views and anywhere ! The condition to my point is to have a good PC Hardware configuration for getting higher settings for good quality and good performance ! I’am waiting for my New Alienware Aurora R11 with RX3090 NVidia Graphic card to unleash the power of VR and I do not regret this purchase. Cheers from Paris !

I'm sticking with my oled Vive Pro w/Etsy Gear VR lens mod and Index controllers for all my sims. BTW, for sims a Rift S will give better performance than a Q2 and is better value imho.

There's is something about this Youtuber's voice that causes stuff to vibrate in my house when I have Youtube cast to my television, even when I lower the volume. It's only when the speaker hits a certain pitch. I have experienced this before, but hardly ever. I think it's fascinating. Has anyone else experienced this?

Been using the cv1 for the last 3 years. But now it's time for an upgrade, So I've preorder the HP reverb G2, which should delivered in a weeks time (hopefully) coupled with my new 5900x / RX6800XT so looking forward to comparing the difference. Mainly will be used for Sim Racing but going to branch out & try HL Alyx

I will get in to vr at some point, but as of now i have a medium specked pc 1080ti g card, and i 7700. Until i can afford a top of the line pc, my honey comb setup yoke and throttle quadrant will have to do:).

Went from the vive to the index, love the room scale really can trick the senses.

But for me the biggist bug barer is the screen door affect. The index still has it. I may at some point go for the 8k but as you say I'd need to update my rig, as my ryzen1600 & 1080 is struggling with the index, and I think I've the lowist spec you can get away with for vr

Starting with the Rift CV1 years ago, I am currently using the Index. Knowing that the G2 might have a very good picture, I never want to go back to a FOV smaller than the Index. In addition my PC with a GTX2080ti is running at >90% with only 24 fps with settings quite high. So currently it makes no sense to switch to a better headset requiring higher performance. Finally I am waiting for MSFS performance optimisation, the 40xx generation of GPU and the Index V2 :).

Hi Mark. I’m having massive problems getting a decent focus and sweet spot in WMR and MSFS using the G2.
Having tried all the standard fixes, and some more esoteric ones, and getting a sharp picture in mirror, I’m coming to the conclusion that my VR Optician lenses may be the problem.
They are to my distant vision prescription, and work perfectly well if I use them as monocles outside the sim !
However, I am reading that the focus of the various headsets is between 1.5 and 2m, so I wonder if a “screen distance” prescription is better ?
I think you said you wore glasses so I wonder, which prescription are you using and are you using glasses or bespoke lenses ?

Thanks Mark. A very interesting review. Another caveat with the HP Reverb G2 is that you cannot buy one in the UK! I've been after one since the beginning of Dec 2020 but they've been out of stock since then. HP cannot give me any idea when they will be back in stock...! Have you heard anything Mark?

Hi all, I'm very interested in VR. But.. back to basics here, how does VR work with yoke, thrust & peddles. I think the answer is: Not. Also, and again basics, do you zoom in and out while flying VR. Wish I could try this out before spending $600. Talk to me as a total beginner, please.

can one still use flightstick/throttle etc along with mouse/ with VR?? or... is it VR and mouse ONLY ?? ( i want to Still be able to use my thrustmaster stick & throttle ) with vr & mouse...am a little confused from other post here about this. thanks in advance

Howzit. Just to say that I immensely enjoy your videos. I was wondering if you can enlighten me on the subject of glasses and presbyopia (long sightedness associated with ages such as ours.) for the G2. My glasses are pretty ordinary when it comes to lenses and frames. In addition, will a RTX 2070 do the trick for the G2?

I currently use a rift s but will be swapping out this year because of the Oculus sign in with facebook thing. I'm kinda looking forward to the headset by Decagear that should be releasing this year for £450.00. The specs look decent and it looks pretty cool.
