Russia's offensive in Ukraine has 'failed', says former US general - BBC News

The former US military chief general David Petraeus has said that Russia’s operation over the winter “has failed”.

Petraeus said the upcoming Ukrainian counter offensive could be “very impressive,” in an exclusive BBC interview.

The retired US army general is in Kyiv where he has met Ukraine’s President Zelensky.

I hope there is a great offensive, but I am skeptical. I expect more of an eat away at the Russian defense without spectacular gains and more attrition.

My deepest respect to the Ukrainian soldiers and their families. Is not easy hugging a love one and watching him or her ride away to fight and is not easy as a soldier riding away leaving behind your wife, husband, children, and parents because you don’t know if you will see them again. May this war come to end soon so all these families can pick up and continue their lives in peace.

By a certain date is required . If left much longer then the offensive would again be limited by the weather jgst like the last offensive .

Always some American or others "Generals" saying Russia failed no evidence given? like saying Col Gaddafi got wmd or Iraq Saddam Hussein got wmd and later find they did NOT have wmd the very journalists today say Russia Failed were also propagating bombing Iraq and Libya
