This video is long but incredibly useful. When picking up my MY, I used the most popular Tesla delivery day checklist that’s going around online and many of the items shown in this video are either not on on the list at all or requires video/photos to truly understand what to look for. Thank you for this video and I hope it helps many future Tesla owners!

Gabe is the man! He pointed out a few additional areas to look at that I haven't seen mentioned by many others.

I work at a car dealership and appraise trade-in's all the time so I do all this all day, everyday. Only a couple of minor issues with mine but honestly nothing out of the ordinary from every other manufacturer. Steering wheel is slightly misaligned, far right corner of the carbon fiber wing isn't attached fully and rear passenger door has a slight deviation between it and the body but nothing that I felt need fixing.

All in all it was great.

This is a very comprehensive and detailed delivery day checklist. You wouldn’t think as a new car owner you would have to look so closely at everything you and Gabe talk about in this video, but you really do and this video takes out the anxiety of it.
Thanks for all the tips and pointing out what is worth mentioning to Tesla and what to reject a car for! Great video!

Helpful video! But kinda frustrated how he makes it sound like a $50-$60k car is chump change. Like I’m [only] spending half of a salary on a car and I shouldn’t be bothered by quality issues. My last car was $60k (X5) and was perfect. These should be close to that also.

He is absolutely correct about the time spent buying a car at a dealership and picking up a car from Tesla. When bought my i3 about 6 years ago, I was there at the dealership 2 1/2 hours. Since everything was done online at Tesla, I inspected and picked up my Tesla and left in 15 minutes.

I’ve seen other manufacturers inside their factories while on their factory tours…EVERY single one of them at the end of the assembly line has a huge drive through tent with bright lights and multiple people that have check boards with quality control items to look at before it leaves the factory. If there’s an issue at all with anything, it’s fixed and corrected before being allowed to leave. I have ZERO idea why tesla can’t get this concept. There’s a lot of people who won’t buy tesla because of this QC issue alone

Thanks for the perspectives here!

Our MYLR came in yesterday, and thankfully there were very few issues. We saw some panel gaps that concerned us a little, but we got it home and compared them to our Toyota, and _its panel gaps turned out pretty comparable_ . We now accept that we were quasi-hypnotized into seeing panel-gap _non-problems_ . 😅

There were/are, however, 3 minor-but-legitimate issues though, one of which — a paint glitch — they buffed out on-the spot, and it’s good-to-go now.

Beautiful congrats! I got mine two weeks ago. The best car I've owned, so fast and smooth.

Tesla should do a better job at QC, so the consumers don’t even need to worry about a 50-60K car.
