Governments HATE unity!!!! the only way to force conformity is to break traditions and eliminate separate ways of life to the one our governments force us to I absolutely love the Maori people and the way of life!!!! To see this in parliament was truly inspiring as a British I only wish we had some of this in our own
"Ma te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātau" i hope this was right 🙏💪 sending support from the uk

Anywhere colonizers went, they divided the locals. The British royal family should be forced to give up the lands that they have stolen all around the world.

It’s a shame we are still going thru this in this day and time.

I just used this as an example for my kiddo of what quality journalism looks like vs the pathetic AP post, which contains no context and diminishes this serious issue to a spectacle.

It's such a captivating image, all those men and women in suits and ties, the picture of the colonialism forced upon them, doing such a primal and beautiful chant telling the world loud and clear that they will not forget their heritage and they won't let anyone else do so either. It's such a breathtaking thing to see, and it disgusts me that there are so many people who describe it as "barbaric", or worse, equate it to "practicing tiktok dances in a mirror". These people are rightfully proud of their people and traditions, they don't deserve to have their rich culture spat on in such a way, degraded to the point of it being nothing more than a sideshow and a funny dance performed at sports events.

As an American it appears to me that the British did to the indigenous peoples of other lands what the settlers & US government in my country did to Native Americans. It's horrific and shameful. My ancestors immigrated here in the late 1800s, early 1900s, and I thank God none of them had anything to do with that. I'm on the Maori side, good for them. 👏 🎉❤

Are they the Indigenous people of Aotearoa?? What about the Moriori peoples?? Didn’t the Maori people came from the Islands and invade what is now known as NZ, (New Zealand, Aotearoa).
