You guys sharing your first experience outside the Tourist area reminded me of when my brother visited Mexico for the 1st time. I was living in Cancun at the time and my brother always had the interest of coming to Mexico but because of the negative news he had cancelled multiple trips to Mexico. Once I was living there he thought what a perfect opportunity to visit México. Well his first two nights he was so scared and panicked that he move the sofa to the cover the front door. He actually slept on that couch in case someone wanted to break the door down 🤣...Now he is coming 3 times a year and thinking about eventually moving to live in Mexico. He still only travels with me but I have taken him to the majority of cities or towns in Quintan Roo including Belize. Also took him to la capital San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato and Michoacán. Many positive culture shocks! He was amazed on how much better Mexico was fronting Covid vs USA.

Wow, Mascota! I took a trip there in a car my girlfriend and i rented in Bucerias about 10 years ago. Adventure galore! due to the less than great condition of the car and my inability to drive a stick shift well, we discovered the most kind and generous people i have ever met ANYWHERE! Mascota really holds a special place in my heart. If i ever meet you guys, and i might if you come to Jaltemba bay this winter, I'll tell you the whole story. Love your videos.
