In this Microsoft Excel video tutorial I demonstrate how to remove special characters {~#&}|@*%$ or any series of characters from a text string. I use the REDUCE function together with LAMBDA and SUBSTITUTE to achieve this.

This is brilliant! I was trying to achieve this with a custom function, but it is a bit beyond my expertise.

Thank you for this video! The walkthrough was really clear and the REDUCE formula did exactly what I needed it to do. I also appreciate that you went over the simpler SUBSTITUTE option first since that's definitely quicker when you're only removing/replacing one or two characters at a time, and then you transitioned into REDUCE as the better solution when dealing with a lot of characters and/or a dynamic list.

I'm not computer savvy but I have a question, Does Excel have a formula or a program that rearrange the cells in no particular order, for example if I have the number one in cell number one and I have a half a million numbers and I would like to rearrange them in no particular order can that be done, and if so what is the formula thank you
