I just went to order a drink as I was editing this video and stumbled over my words forgetting how to pick sugar & ice levels...this doesn't only happen to first time speakers 😭...

I grew up and lived in Taiwan for more than 20 years and I didn't even realise that the staff would ask that many questions to customers 😂 I have so much respect for anyone who is learning Chinese out there!! Keep going 🙌

Throwback to when I ordered a 香曹拿铁 instead of a 香草拿铁 and the girl just could not understand what I meant ...

Haha you did a great job performing this out and it was funny in a feel good way! Subscribed and excited to follow your channel! I'm a new YouTuber myself!

Haha. I feel your pain! This is me. I know what I want to say, practice in my head, and then say it out loud (hopefully not tripping all over my words). Then someone responds and I'm like, "Huh?" Sigh. 🤣

I've been in China for longer than I'd admit and I only got half of this. Extremely relatable.

Haha!! Now that's what I call a funny video.
I hate to admit that for years I thought cashiers at convenience stores were saying 送你一百塊 and not 收你一百塊. I was always confused because they never gave me free money.

Story of my life, haha. Dread talking to people still because of this. Writing sometimes can be easier if I know the pinyin and recognize the correct characters, but speaking, once again haha. Been practicing with a teacher, but it's a struggle to understand still sometimes. I might understand every other word. Using Duolingo, youtube videos, Powerpoints teacher gave me. Also have some textbooks, but haven't touched them. Well, read a few pages and stared at them, but haven't attempted the lessons. Haha, but I guess like you said, the more I practice I'll get it.

Haha. I can relate to it. I am learning. Passed HSK 2. Yesterday I just thought of talking to my chinese colleague. But I didn't know how to say - I am "trying" to speak Chinese.

Too funny! But honestly I love Duolingo as a quick way to learn Mandarin! I realize this process is not going to happen overnight….it truly is a journey!
