What is scary is the whole start of the video where you only showed Norma's perspective, I believed her 100%. Its frightening how perspective and presentation can 100% grip you and demand your POV to see one angle

There's this redheaded girl I knew a while ago who thinks that her brothers are making weird inventions. I saw a few but I just chalked it up to the parents doing construction on their house.

Weirdest part is how she thinks that their pet platypus (yes, they have a pet platypus, no I don't know why) is a secret agent.

I don't know if she's crazy or on drugs or something, but their dad tells me that she probably got her paranoia from him. She's nice regardless.

I've dealt with mentally ill neighbors myself. I lived next to a woman who was severely mentally ill and was not taking her meds. Of course the cops and state knew this but refuse to do anything stating she is not a danger to anyone. She would talk to people in the hallway though there was never anyone actually there. She would beat on the walls yelling at people to be quiet when no one was making noise. One day she randomly decided to attack my mom unprovoked and beat the hell out of her. I walked into the situation mid attack and had I not been there she probably would have killed my mom. The state only decided to put her into a facility after we threatened litigation. They don't care about you or your safety.

Other horror YouTubers are like “isn’t this spooky uwu” but Scare Theater is like “this is a serious mental health crisis” and that’s why he’s still the GOAT

I don't feel like he was villainizing that woman at all. She's legitimately attempted to harm one of her family members & engaged in a long term delusional campaign of harassment so she's definitely a potential public hazard & needs to be given some help.

This is why it's so important that people understand how human trafficking actually works and why using child predation as entertainment is so harmful. It's so easy to whip up a mob over literally nothing because they watch too much law & order and want to be heroes.

People online could have made false calls to the police aka (Swatting) just to drum up more fear/videos from her.
I think she was getting swatted by trolls online

The murder of someone's pet should be investigated. I hate how little animals matter to the justice system.

Stuff like this is why i never ever believe what i see on TikTok. It gives ANYONE a platform and that includes people who probably shouldn't.

The most likely theory for the church thing I can think of is that a wake was taking place, in some places (especially parts of the southern u.s) families will sometimes spend the night in the church with the deceased before the funeral, the van could have been a clergy member picking up relatives as most churches offer free transport to the church that way.

This reminds me of Fence Gate which happened a while back. Basically, neighbors accused an older woman of harassing them and knocking down their fence and got support online. Then the old woman responded revealing they were actually harassing her and the fence was on her property so she had the right to take it down. While it's not exactly the same as this, it does show how easy it is to make the other person look bad when there is only one side of the story.

As someone who doesn't use tiktok and therefore hadn't heard of any of this until seeing this video, the way he made it seem like she was actually onto something in the beginning of the video and then pulled a plot twist where Mercedes was actually Norma and SHE was the one who was actually stalking THEM is really good editing and story telling

Delusions are genuinely so scary to deal with, I've had problems with magical thinking before and it's so easy to just... Slip and lose grip on reality, start believing my thoughts are more powerful than they actually are. I have to keep myself in check even if I really want to believe something, I know it's not true and have to remind myself from time to time whenever something starts feeling really tempting again
I was in a weird discord cult in late 2020 to early 2021 and they really tried to exploit that, I didn't even know I had that issue then so the whole few months were A Lot. So essentially delusions are terrifying especially if you don't know you're dealing with those. I really hope she can get the help she needs, I have some sympathy for her even if she's clearly in the wrong

“Norma” has too much time on her hands.

This is why critical thinking is so important. Question what you see. Accept nothing at face value. Always look for more than one source before jumping to conclusions. The fact people harassed the actual victims, going so far as to damage their property, speaks volumes for how easily people can be fooled and manipulated. It is truly scary how people will be manipulated in the age of AI. That aside as someone with Bipolar disorder 1 myself I feel it is a little oversimplified to automatically conclude Norma is herself a victim. One can absolutely contribute to the likelihood of having a mental health episode through their own life choices, something that took a few stays in a mental health clinic for me to finally learn. As a favourite podcaster of mine who also has bipolar says “Mental illness isn’t your fault, but it is your responsibility” To me giving someone a free pass just because they have a mental illness does more harm than good.

It’s crazy how I’ve been watching this channel since I was a young high schooler. I’m 23 now and about to start going back to college, here’s to hoping this content continues
