Before him, there wasn't a single Marvel villain to ever make me whisper "Fuck you" to the big screen. The High Evolutionary is by far, the most evil villain in the MCU.

Ironically, I think the reason why the High Evolutionary was enraged by Rocket’s intelligence was because he (Rocket) was able to figure out the problem before he (The High Evolutionary) did, despite being a ‘lower life form’. Because, to him, all Rocket was was an experiment.

Maybe not as dangerous as Thanos, but he was truly an irredeemable villian for what he’s done

Rocket actually did figure it out. He just didn't want to believe it because it was the dream of his friends. That's why he was collecting parts for the key.

The irony here is that High Evolutionary has already created the perfect species: Rocket Raccoon. But he was too prideful and egoistic to acknowledge it

I feel more threatened by the High Evolutionary than Kang.

The High Evolutionary is the first villain that has ever made me feel uncomfortable whenever he'd be on screen with the way he moved and spoke. Despite his arrogance and God complex he felt unpredictable and therefor scary. The actor really did a great job with the performance. Even before he killed Lylla I was afraid the High Evolutionary was going to harm Rocket personally every time he touched him.

I think the actor who played this villian was amazing. The way he could make you seem that he was a man looking for a better future but then his twist to being a cruel evil man the way he would belittle everyone.

The line delivery is so perfect! The actor isn’t just delivering these lines in a sadistic grinning way, he’s just speaking the character’s truth and selling it all, and the little stutters here and there keep the impact of his excitement from finally succeeding in his goal throughout.

A really great modern sci fi mad scientist

Most villains are smart enough to keep their subjects on when they display an exceptional quality . The irony is Rocket could have been a loyal subordinate to High Evolutionary if the latter had kept him on and been discreet about the failed subjects he killed. Unfortunately High Evolutionary's fragile ego and his inability to feel empathy mean that when someone solves an equation he couldn't, he doesn't see them as a kindred spirit worthy of his attention and respect, but as a threat that's undermining his superiority. While High Evolutionary still would have blunty told Rocket what he had planned, his comment about how Rocket could figure out advanced compounds an proteins, but couldn't figure out he wasn't meant to be on Counter Earth is just pure spite. It's basically High Evolutionary telling Rocket "You think you're smarter than me but you're wrong!"

The actor who played the High Evolutionary was absolutely brilliant! He helped to create one of the most compelling villains in all of the MCU.

This guy is Jack Horner levels of evil. He's like "Oh boy, I'm gonna love crushing this child's dreams."

Such a great villain. He really couldn't see his own hypocrisy about the bigotry/ignorance on Earth while also deeming Rocket unworthy of living like the "superior" animals.

This is finding out the person you cared about never actually caring about you at all

The effectiveness of this villain is that he goes from father figure to completely vile, insecure POS without ANY warning. We all know this character, we've had them in our lives, we do everything we can to not invite their anger. Someone who has NO reservations about switching from benevolence to remorseless abuse and violence, simply for the sake of a self-preserving ego, is truly terrifying.

You know the actor is killing it, if they make you hate the character they're playing, in a good way.

Damn, even Thanos would be appalled with the way H.E. treats animals

High Evolutionary was almost like a father to Rocket. Imagine the absolute heartbreak he must’ve felt when he learned he would kill him and all his friends without a second thought
