How about we do away with MPs expenses on top of their already obscene £91 K salary - if they can't live on that, there's something wrong with their accountancy skills !

Giving other Countries so much money, and not looking after your own people, is just madness.

No saving in reality as will cost NHS more picking up the tab of pensioners freezing and requiring hospitalisation.

My mum worked all her days paid the full stamp and got a full pension she get £13, 600 she can't get pension credits because she is just over the threshold so she's won't get the winter fuel payment and now she been taxed because £212 in tax because her pension is over the 12570 tax threshold so now she's 500 down all this because she worked all her life bloody disgusting 😑

It makes a difference how many people are living in a property when it comes to paying for heating. I am 75, live on my own, not entitled to pension credit. Heating my home would cost the same if there were two incomes.

At the moment pensioners living on more than £11300 a year stand to lose the winter fuel allowance. The minimum legal wage is £11.44 per hour. The standard working week is 40 hours a week. 40 x £11.44 = £457.60 a week or £23759 per year. In other words Rachel Reeves thinks that a pensioner who may be living on LESS than HALF the legal MINIMUM wage for a standard working week is 'wealthy' enough to lose the winter payment !

MPs allowances need an inquiry to verify amounts..

My dislike of ALL politicians gets deeper the older I get . Rachel Reeves and labour are a disgrace . My wife and I do not need the winter fuel allowance to heat our home but many people do . She has no shame .

OAPs on Attendance Allowance, with a disability, are mostly house bound and require the heating on 24/7. They need the heating but are now being robbed.

We are not wealthy pensioners, we are just over the limit so do not qualify for the winter heating allowance. Now we are told the cost of heating is now going up again. We both have heart conditions.Well done Rachel Reeves and Kier Starmer. I am so glad I didnt vote for you. Can you also tell me how train drivers, who are very well paid, are now planning more train strikes this winter. This country needs less wealthy members of government who are able to relate to ordinary people to be making decisions. The House of Lords provide the wealthy with a £300 daily allowance just to turn up. The best food and wine for their free lunch. Get rid of this corrupt bunch of grifters like Baroness Mone who made a fraudulent claim of many millions selling sub standard protection for NHS staff during the pandemic and she is still benefitting from her dishonesty. Change is needed.

I know a pensioner who is just £2-85 a week above the Pension Credit threshold. So not only will lose the winter fuel allowance, has lost free NHS dental also now has lost the Council tax exemption & has to pay £100 per year. They are worse off after the last pension rise that meant the lose of Pension Credit. There is something wrong if an increase in the state pension makes you worse off & that is without the cost of living increases.

I think they should ban all MPs heating allowance. They have had a good pay rise, they don’t need their heating allowance
