My father left my mother and was disfellowshipped when I was 12 or 13. Two elders firmly told me to not associate or have anything to do with my father. Looking back now some 30 plus years, how horrific.

I am not a Jehovah's Witness nor have I ever been, but I have heard a lot of nightmarish stories and other bad press about the Watchtower Society and its short-sighted policies, most notably its shunning policy. This is not only unkind, morally speaking, but, believe it or not, it is also considered a violation of human rights by some nations, such as Norway. Now the Watchtower Society, in n act of cowardice and duplicity, has the unmitigated gall and lying arrogance to try to dispose of its videos about shunning, all because they do not want to be exposed as the brazen liars that they are. Thank you, EXJW Pands, for this eye-opening video.

This is stomach churning, we as parents are being shunned recently by the family we devotedly raised. This has to be exposed and government funds should be cut like it happened in Norway, No country should give tax brakes to an evil organization that separates families over ideology.

When i was bible student the JW were claiming to me that they don't destroy the families. Meanwhile they tried to destroy our family with urging me to shun my parents and brother because of their worldly customs and because they rejected my preaching of "good news". I wasn't a unbaptized publisher but was guilt tripped into preaching about "good news" to my parents, brother, etc. I quit bible study afterwards. Then i watched apostate material and there i discovered how many families JW destroyed. Very sad and heartbreaking.

My oldest brother is a JW. He grew up in a Pentecostal church. We still talk to him. I told him "If, for any reason you get shunned, you will still have us". I am no longer religious. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. Whistleblowers risk it all. Shunning was used (is still) back in the 70’s. The thing that haunts me still is how cruel my JW bro was (he was teaching me and my young family as we were new JWs) how to use the Scriptures as a hammer (my description)...he had my Catholic Mom and Dad and us to dinner at his house and as we all sat down to eat, he “hammered” my Mom about the little gold cross she wore around her neck. He said why would she wear a murder weapon around her neck and besides, Jesus was hung on a stake not a cross. On and on this zealot went. My Mom was in tears, I was told to be silent and submissive to my bro as he preached, my husband just sat there (we were quite a bit younger than him) and my father had an angina attack and they fled his house. Then he “taught” us: “I planted a seed. Did you see the demons in Mom’s eyes?”...all that bullshit. I had never been so scared and sorry. He shunned our parents for years and when they died, he would not attend their worldly funeral because I was inside the Chapel as a disfellowshipped Apostate by then and he stayed outside, not daring to enter a Chapel at a cemetery where a Catholic Priest prayed for Mom. My shunning continues to this day. A family blew apart and I will never forget the cruelty. God is love not disrespect, shunning, demon obsessions and bullying. Thank God for Whistleblowers!

I was a Med tech in 1992. Had an 11 yr old girl in hospital that needed blood. She was severely anemic. I cross matched four units for her. Parents were JW and refused blood. Doctors went crazy trying to find legal loopholes. The parents said we could use a blood substitute. Fluoride and more chemicals were the answer. The only problem was that she was dying quickly. The fluoride wasn't a stable fix. They refused transfusion for her. She died two days later. I cried so hard. I went to the floor and prayed for her. Her parents were heartbroken, but why? I blame them. I blame the JW cult. So glad this came to light. Hope to see more. Prince and MJ were JW. I hope they met their maker as they were told.

I’ve been disfellowshipped since 2017, when I see my Aunt, Uncle, Cousins and Grandparents. I wave at them with a huge smile like nothing happened.. I make sure I make them feel uncomfortable around me 😂

i didnt realize how bad this video was. I had multiple family memebers shunned at one point when I was young, but nobody told me what was happening. All I remembered was I didnt see them all that much anymore. I didnt find out a family member had been shunned until last year, and all I was told about her was that she was never a witness to begin with. Now my parents wont aknowledge that my family is soft shunning me because Im not practicing the religion anymore. If my family and friends want to hate me and not have anything to do with me as an adult, thats their right and are free to do. As for the people in charge of publishing shit like this to perpetuate that hate, I want them to face retribution and be shut down for the trouble theyve caused me and everyone else affected.
