On Conway's law: Some 15 years ago, when VAIO (Sony) asked me (and my communication agency) to mimic what Apple was doing on packaging to enhance customer experience. The main question I kept on asking was: but what about your corporate culture? Because the 2 companies couldn't be more different. But they (Sony) never understood. And the project came to a halt. I live in the Philippines. BYD and Chinese EV makers have just entered the market and are doing well. Toyota is in BIG trouble. Tesla would do extremely well here, especially if they offer a lower priced model. A 10% market share is very attainable in 3-5 years. I'm personally ready to buy a Model Y and a Model 3 as soon as they set up shop here!

The BMW brake recall is particularly ironic given that so many, especially Europeans, mocked the Tesla Model S Plaid for inadequate brakes for a powerful sport sedan, when all the while those legendary German driving machines have a much worse braking problem...

Thanks for highlighing the open Teala positions in the Philippines. I also tagged you in one of my X's post about the first Tesla hiring event last Sept/13-14.

The infra here is the Philippibes when it cones to EV is still very limited to none but with the entry of Teala I'm sure that will change the landscape of EV. I tested BYD Atto3 and seems okay I can wait for a Tesla. I hope to sit on my own before 2030 :-)

Re: Conway's Law- I wonder if GM created their Saturn division as a skunk works in order to avoid that system inertia. Of course, they later began to slowly kill it

This may or may not be true but maybe the 2025 Model S has 4680's. Kato Rd. might be the supplier. There should be a cost savings compared to 18650's from Japan. Also Model S + X imported into Canada do come in under the Nafta Free Trade Agreement, the 18650 battery value does not. For Canadians this is good news if you are buying a Model S as Tesla might reduce price to reflect a decrease in import fees. Soon Tesla Model 3+Y made in China and imported into Canada will have a 100% import duty applied to them. The Prime Minister of Canada needs this money to offset some of his Vacation expenses.
