Detroit become human might become a reality by 2038.

Dude! That shared understanding of the surroundings is what I have always felt is the next step in FSD. The limitation is of course that you need more than one Tesla within like 30 to 50 feet of each other on the road but imagine cars being able to talk to each other to tell one another of unseen obstacles coming up.

I was happy just to see how well Optimus can move during the event. I thought making them interact with people was just trying to add more fun to the party. 😅

I can’t believe Tesla’s stock dropped after that event. I thought their robotaxi announcement would be huge, but investors seemed disappointed.

I want to know how loud these bots are. Any pc can get pretty loud when under load, im wondering if its the same with tesla or any humanoid bots? Would be pretty annoying having this thing walk around your house with an internal jet engine going off constantly, especially if it pumps out a ton of heat. My pc alone can make me sweat when gaming for a few hours.

I'm not sure if you'll read my comment, but I want to say that your channel was very realistic three years ago. For three years, I eagerly awaited Mechazilla's success and your discussion about it, but surprisingly, you never mentioned it at all.

So I asked AI (Perplexity) this question:
Q: How long will it take to write the software or the Tesla Optimus robot for it to fully integrate into human society and not accidentally harm/kill a human?

AI:
Creating software for the Tesla Optimus robot that allows it to fully integrate into human society without posing risks to humans is a complex and multifaceted challenge. It involves addressing several key areas:

## Safety Considerations

1. **Physical Safety**: Ensuring that robots do not accidentally harm humans involves implementing robust safety measures. This includes using sensors and vision systems to detect human presence and adjust robot behavior accordingly, such as slowing down or stopping movements to avoid collisions[1][5]. Collaborative robots, or cobots, are designed with safety features like force limiters to make them safer for human interaction[1].

2. **Perceived Safety**: Beyond physical safety, the perceived safety of robots is crucial for user trust and acceptance. Factors influencing perceived safety include predictability, transparency, and the ability for users to maintain control over the robot's actions[2][9].

3. **Regulatory Standards**: Adhering to international safety standards, such as ISO 10218 for industrial robots and ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative robots, is essential[1][6]. These standards provide guidelines for safe design and operation.

## Technological Challenges

1. **AI and Machine Learning**: As robots become more integrated with AI, ensuring their actions remain safe and predictable is a significant challenge. This requires ongoing development of safety mechanisms that can adapt to changes in the robot's environment and tasks[4].

2. **Human-Robot Interaction (HRI)**: Designing robots that can safely interact with humans in various environments—whether industrial, service-oriented, or domestic—requires sophisticated control strategies and risk assessments[8].

3. **Cybersecurity**: Protecting against cyber threats is critical as robots increasingly rely on interconnected systems and cloud services[4].

## Timeline Considerations

The timeline for developing such comprehensive software depends on several factors:

- **Technological Advancements**: Progress in AI, sensor technology, and machine learning will significantly influence the timeline.
- **Regulatory Developments**: Changes in safety standards and regulations can impact development timelines.
- **Public Acceptance**: The pace at which society accepts and adapts to robotic integration will also play a role.

Given these complexities, it is challenging to predict an exact timeline. However, achieving full integration of robots like Tesla Optimus into society without risks could take several years to decades, depending on technological breakthroughs and regulatory progress.

I'm guessing it will take decades to integrate robots with humans..

From the very beginning, I believed that Tesla vehicles in front of me and those that had passed through the same path had already communicated with mine, so it was aware of any potholes, banana peels, or road hazards.

What if you rob the robot or threaten to take its battery out

The fastest wireless charging technology for electric vehicles has been demonstrated at 100 kW, with an efficiency of 96%, allowing it to compete with high-quality wired charging. This was achieved by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). But even a 25 KW speed is fast enough if you have several stops during the day. Which is the case for a cybercar. It's also the best speed you can achieve from home chargers. Superchargers are useful for long distances and if there are not enough charging stations or you don't have a home charger.

I’d still like more details on Optimus. What’s the battery life? How is it recharged? What are its full capabilities (ie built in cellular device? WiFi? A.I. software?)? When I send it shopping, does it link with things like Apple Pay? CAN I send it shopping without running out of power? Customization options?

Once all vehicles are autonomous there will be no more traffic jams and the current speed limits will be doubled, reducing travel time significantly!

Wireless charging a car? How much power is lost? When they mean 90% efficiency, do they mean 10% of the power lost? because that's still a lot when you see how much power it needs.
