I really like that fact that when DeVito talks he addresses the audience, real class

Got every bit of respect for the Welsh and how they've managed to keep their language alive all things considered. I wish I was taught Gaelic at school, Welsh and Irish have the right idea there 👍🏻.

That's actually a creditable effort from Devito, you can see why he's good at that sort of thing.

Well at least they're trying with Welsh - people with stupid attitudes just ruin it for others. People's languages and heritage are important to keep.

I was born in Uganda and got adopted by my welsh father and english mother. I speak welsh and watch every welsh rugby game that I can. Cymru am byth <3

A lot of actors wouldn't be bothered to spend that kind of time and effort for the alternate-language versions.  Good on him.

British used welsh speakers as codetalkers in WW2

True, but as a Welsh speaker who lived in Arabia I can tell you that Arabic sounds come more easily to the average Welsh speaker than a monoglot English speaker.

How does Danny DeVito look older in this than he does now?

I love Welsh. It looks and sounds like somebody bashing his head against the keyboard. And it's fucking beautiful! Be proud of it and never let it dissapear.

I miss Powys, the spirit of my home, the hills and valleys where I used to roam, as in paradise her spirit held me in her hills and valleys and rocked me to sleep a baby in my heritage. i cry for my home i cannot live without her, without my valley i have never been whole

I guess I am old, but every time I see Danny DeVito, I think of the Taxi series he was in, the mean taxi supervisor, a part he played to perfection. Interesting insight there into fake-it-till-you-make it on the languages.

That’s why I’m proud to be welsh!
If we say anything in welsh, no one and I meant LITERALLY NO ONE can understand us!

Hi all, I can see that some people are saying “Oh i dont want to learn welsh because its hard.” Im going to be completely honest, ITS EXTEREMELY HARD! I am a fluent welsh speaker, but once youve leaned the mutations e.g: Cymru (wales) may become Nghymru or Gymru depending on whats before it. Taldra (height) may be naldra or nhaldra or pwysau (weight) may become Mhwysau. Once youve mastered mutations, welsh will become easy!!!! -Ellie

No way, thats funny because in Gaelic the word for Pig is Muc, which when said, sounds the same as Mochyn. Also our word for big is Mór, and in Welsh its Mawr, also sounds the same. We have other similar words. They are both Celtic languages -- the Welsh were the Britons and the Irish were the Gaels.
