I like how his character was introduced as someone the gang didn't want, but needed to keep the bar. His character in the show forced himself into the hijinks which is reflective of how it happened in real life.

You know usually a producer forcing a celebrity character the showrunners didn't want ends in disaster. But holy crap did Devito jump in straight at the deep end with a 200% performance, to the point it's now his most iconic character.

One of those rare instances where a studio’s meddling with creative choices actually enhanced a show. Always sunny is still hilarious in the first season without Danny and it works without him, but when he came on it was like adding a delicious sauce to compliment an already tender and well seasoned steak.

Fun Fact: When Danny was added in the second season, he only had 3 weeks to film for the show before leaving for another obligation. They filmed every one of his scenes for the entire second season in 21 days. After the success of that season, he was able to devote more time to IASIP

Something to consider: Despite how much bullshit higher ups tend to force the minds of a show/movie/game/whatever, there are people who do know what they're doing or make good decisions in those positions.

They did really well because Danny's character is introduced in the beginning as a no nonsense vindictive business man then he meets Charlie and it completely flips and Danny honestly falls right into this perfect character

I love how they incorporate his character as Dennis and Dee’s dad with a bunch of money. A direct metaphor to his real life role in the show as a recognizable person that brought in a bigger budget. Props to Danny, Rob, Glen, and the rest of them for making it work perfectly

From literally the very second Frank is introduced to the show it’s impossible to imagine it without him. And that’s a testament to not only how well they write Frank but how naturally Danny fits in with all four of them.

Thank God for Danny! He certainly elevated the show and helped push it in an insane direction. And he's continues to give it 110%, that's why his character is so amazing!

In all honesty, Danny was the key that made the show successful. I've watched the whole series 3 times now, and it gets funnier every time I watch it because you pick up the small stuff.
