Not Just nuclear family. Extanded family is very important also.
I feel like especially in the west that concept has diminished and society has become weaker for it.
I personally could put more affort into relations with extanded family as well.

I think you're giving central planners too much credit. They tend to think in very superficial terms, only concerned with what they themselves want and not caring about the costs to others, nor considering what the real world obstacles to their goals are, as opposed to having some actual plan. We can see this in the Communist Manifesto, which in general is heavy on goals and light on plans, in particular calling for an end to urbanization while still retaining the benefits of such (e.g. heavy industry) with not a word to my knowledge of how to achieve this and never sparing a word for how the dystopian world Marx himself admitted would be created by his ideas would become the utopia that was the stated end goal, but instead merely asserting that it would. So much of the horrors that come from central planning were never planned but were either the unintended consequences of what the self appointed rulers wanted, or a poorly-conceived solution to said consequences. The contempt for the family then is simply because they see the family as something selfish for distinguishing oneself from others, just as they see individual rights as selfish for the same reason. All the consequences of abolishing the family, like the consequences of abolishing individual rights are not the intent, central planners simply do not care as long as their own ends are served by doing so.
