People take this so personally every time I try to bring these ideas. I wish people accepted these ideas and were still able to maximize their potential. This is especially true when it comes to intelligence imo. I understand that I have an average iq but I optimize my cognitive abilities anyway without it feeling like a moral failing if I'm not the next Einstein.

It's extremely clear in the literature that dopamine regulation varies dramatically and genetics are a solid component of that

Just LOVE your hypnotizing voice Peter!
Thanks James for the hint: “This is wrong lesson to take away”, because I LOVED everything in the “Atomic Habits”, we’ll, except for the part that genes 🧬 control a lot of the output… because I wanted to say: I don’t necessarily want to be Michael Phillips 🏊‍♂️ and if there’s a way I can do just 70% of his numbers, I’ll still be one of the most amazing swimmers in any team (not necessarily Olympians)

Just seeing you two guys together, motivated me so much (looks like my genes 🧬 gets motivated by you both)

I think this is part of the general purpose in life. Figure out who you are and what you're best at and go with it.

I wonder if some of it has to do with learning that you’re “better than others” which then motivates you to work even harder at it …

Dr. Attia, I just discovered your channel after watching the video with Pogacar’s coach. Which was most excellent! Anyway, been viewing more and more of your content and really love the message and am a firm believer in your current research or at least what you have been working on. Just saw the Aston Martin F1 shirt here and had the instant connect even more as I am an Aston owner myself. Do you to have one?!?! Already have a subscriber from me.

I feel that tasks seem to be always difficult for me. I cannot do and understand things quickly and people think I am lazy because of it.

And my fragmented sleep and tiredness make it even harder for me to perform well.

And like Jordan Peterson has said many times, what we are interested in isn't up to us. Its something inherent to our personality which we can't divided, we have to discover it.

We walk right up to the edge of Eugenics, but then freeze in fear and won’t go further…

Peter Attia's podcast is becoming less scientific with every podcast that passes, and becoming more BS, wishful thinking and speculation. Not to mention the many podcasts that had nothing to do with longevity.
