I got a copy of this from my eldest cousin Dr Strange one year, when I lived in Brooklyn. Now I have one on DVD.
I saw this first hand in 1983 at Rochdale theater with my brother and sister.

I’m really annoyed with how they do this with Stephen King books. Dude writes some scary novels, and now almost every single thing he makes is adapted into/portrayed as horror. The Dead Zone was NOT a horror novel. It was a personal, heartfelt sci+fi thriller with a lot of interpersonal drama elements.

My favorite King horror adaptation, and easily the most underrated. It’s pure class from start to finish, and gets under your skin like few other psychological horror flicks do. Career-best performances from everyone involved, too, and without a doubt, it’s Walken’s best role.
