I remember an episode where Thawne also changed the timeline. I didn't watch the whole episode so I'm not sure with the details, but it looked like if Thawne messes up with the timeline it's fine but if Barry does it, it's bad or like something bad will happen.
Maybe if Barry messes up with the timeline enough times he'll get a pass like Thawne. Or not because the writers won't. 😄

I don't get it. He can go back in time for a murder, but Flash can't fix it? Unless that was always meant to be, and that means all timelines are destined, not having a choice.
