long rest wins! as long as you have a lot of time to spare in a gym :)

I do 3 mins 30 sec to 4 minute rest between most of my exercises
On heavy compounds though like deadlifts, OHP, benchpress, squats i do 4 mins 30 sec to 5 minutes

You need atleast 3 to 4 minutes between sets to check out girls.

So to actually get proper rest what I ended up doing was putting a small gym in my apartment too. Titan squat stands with all the power rack attachments like the pull up bar the dip bars, the spot arms, and even taking three minute rest so I can finish my workout within an hour hour and 15 minutes.

I realize this is a little old now, but does this have to do with the delay in ADP to ATP rephosphorylation? I've read and heard a few times that this usually takes 2-3 minutes after large exertions of muscles. If so, would creatine supplementation reduce this delay, and would alternating muscles mitigate this issue (ie, if you were to do antagonist muscle sets or completely different muscle groups with smaller delays)?

How about 2 minutes to 2:30 minutes, safe?

Does someone have an explanation for this? Studies are showing that most important for hypertrophy is the number of sets taken close to failure. In that case is should not matter how long one waits between sets as long as the sets are close to failure. This also suggests that Rest-Pause training would not work, but from what I have seen it seems to work very well as it allows accumulation of many reps close to failure.. This just does not add up

I cant understand for the life of me why they never equalize the time of training, see what would happen if the short rest group doubled or tripled the amount of sets and were in the gym for as long as the long rest group, would the long rest group still win?

I am new to working out and I do calisthenics and I am trying to just build strength because I don't want to be some massive monster of muscles. How much rest should I take between sets?
