I have an 08 5 Speed Manual and it’s one of the best cars I’ve owned. Super reliable and fun to drive!

If it’s been maintained it has plenty of life left. Obviously not everyone’s cup of tea, but a very practical vehicle

I own a 2015 lifted Scion xB. Had a lifted for two years.

Bought that car since it was brand new and one of the last ones.

And I put some aftermarket on vehicle to make it more useful vehicle, and keep the vehicle maintain.

Such as change the synthetic oil every 5k miles. And always 5k miles.
I change my ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) at between 50k-60k miles: and I did that in between using oem toyota transmission fluid that it’s design for this model.
Got my front and rear brakes and rotors change to new oem with ceramic pads.
I went ahead of the schedule and change the spark plugs before it hits 80k miles.
Change my gas gap for brand new one so that, it doesn’t create a leaking problem. Keep it sealed very well.

Now I gotta get my radiator coolant replace, with Toyota’s oem pink coolant. I realize about a month ago. That u gotta change them every 7-8 years. And yeah it’s been 8 years lol. It’s low but still got some before I drain and replace for a brand new coolant.

Now I need a custom made sun frame drop kit to lower the front axle to keep it flat.

It drives fine and it handles nicely.

I’m rollin on 2” front and 2.5” rear lift kit from front rav4 suspension and rear spacers. Rollin on 215/70/16 toyo - open country at3, wrapped in blackrhino - boxer gold wheels. Very underrated for lifted xB.

But we have over 2K+ members for all xB gens.

You better jump on that deal. I still have my 2010 Scion Xb with about 140000 miles I bought from the dealer that same year.
It is still a reliable vehicle and hasn't given me a problem till this day.

In my experience of owning my dads car. As long you change the oil every 3k-5k miles. It should go past 250k like mine. Only issue is the same oil burning issue as every other xb.
Would recommend looking for one as a commuter

I got a first gen Rs 3.0 that was babies by an old couple bought it new in 2006 for 17, 000$. They put an axel back borla exhaust system on it. Gave it too their daughter and i got it for 1000$ flat. Less then 230, 000$ miles and she changed the oil every 3, 000 miles. Tiny bit of cosmetic shit but a grand is lucky as a mf

I bought a 2005 scion xB for $1k with 200k miles and rear camber due to frame damage sustained during a serious collision. It's survived two of my summers so far, and all it eats are batteries 💀

My dad just got me one after my Honda civic 1999 was hit. Was trying to see what people thought about this car 😭

Found an 08 with 77, 000 miles. Should i go look at it??? Heard they have piston issues, excessive oil consumptions???

Those engines burn oil in the second gen. I think 2008-2010

No. Only get a 2011 or later. The 2az-fe's before this all burn oil.

If it was a stick I'd say yeah. Still it's a Toyota so it's not a bad deal for the money. Even without the best maintenance it'll be okay

ok so they are hit and miss. the 2.4 is known to burn oil because of bad piston rings there was a recall. if it had the recall work done it should be fine, they have timing chains so makes a great car!! they are zippy and fun to drive mine is brown.

Yes. It's before the piston problem.

Price is kind low for a Toyota car with mileage in the 170's, even with the body damage. I'm suspicious.
