Don't forget you can use XBPS's xdeb capabilities to turn .DEB files into something XBPS can process and install for extra packages not on the repos
And don't forget the extra repos!
xbps-install -S void-repo-nonfree
void-repo-multilib
void-repo-multilib-nonfree
You need all three enabled to pull packages required for I.E Steam

what i love about void linux is its fluid behavior and snappiness. never have i ever seen any other linux distro yet that mimics the same fliudity and snappy behavior of void linux. it's like mac osx. its desktop/windows/mouse rendering are somehow vsync'ed out of the box. it's very noticeable especially at high refresh rates. window dragging, even dragging a browser playing 4k60 youtube video is very smooth and does not show any screen tearing... that and with minimal cpu and memory utilization makes me like this OS more.. even more than windows.

Glad to see some attention for the Linux distribution that is actually the first one that didn't make me want to look for alternatives after using it for more than a year on multiple machines. Great introduction to this awesome flavor of Linux!

does void linux have XFS? Not sure where I got that sense of safety, but I like more XFS than EXT4

I followed another youtube exactly but kept getting grub write errors. they chose dos instead of gpt, i don't know.. this video got it finally setup and running. clear audio, easy to follow. thumbsup.
