This was the first maths book I ever bought!

I became curious about higher mathematics through Knuth’s Art of Computer Programming (vol. 1) because the book is filled with exercises beginning “Prove that…” and I had no idea what it even meant. But I thought it was really cool and when I happened to come across a used copy of Fitzpatrick’s Advanced Calculus I had to pick it up. I wanted to see what advanced mathematics was like and if I’d maybe even want to go study it. And sure enough, I was soon hooked. And now I’m starting my undergraduate next week! So this one definitely has a special place in my heart.
