2023 Toyota prius plug in hybrid

Показать описание
The world’s original hybrid car has been completely redesigned for this fifth generation model, and will again be offered in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid guise.
The iconic wedge shape, a Prius original since the second generation, has evolved, embracing elegant modern lines. A smooth, sleek silhouette has been crafted by lowering the overall height by 50 mm, moving the roof peak rearwards and adopting larger diameter tyres, up to 19 inches.
Unnecessary forms and lines were discarded, leaving a simple and clean overall design inspired by the natural flow of air. The distinctive shape is enhanced by 50 mm longer wheelbase, compared to the previous generation. At the same time, the overall length has been decreased with 46 mm, to 4 599 mm.
At 22 mm wider than its predecessor, the Prius’ stance is dynamic and, on its front, a hammerhead motif elegantly integrates lights which accentuate the distinctive form. The rear view is accented by a three-dimensional linear lighting element emphasising progressive design and focusing attention on the bold Prius logo.
Inside, the prominent centre touchscreen of previous Prius models remains the centrepiece of the new Toyota Prius interior. The screen is larger, measuring 12.3-inches, and there’s an additional head up-style colour display for the driver.
All new Toyota Prius will have a black interior colourscheme, brightened up by ambient lighting and contrast stitching for the upholstery. Toyota Safety Sense technology is also connected to the ambient lighting, in a brand first; it uses flashing lights to ‘pre-warn’ the driver, before any audible alerts.
Those buying or leasing the new Toyota Prius can choose from eight paint colours. There are two modern new solid shades, Ash and Mustard.
At the new car’s heart is the latest generation of Toyota’s plug-in hybrid tech with bigger (13.6kWh) lithium-ion battery and more powerful petrol and electric motor combo, now boasting total system power of 223PS – almost double that of the outgoing PHEV version.
The 2.0-litre engine delivers 148PS while the electric motor supplies the front transaxle with an additional 160PS . With 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds it will be the quickest Prius ever. The larger battery is claimed to be give 50 per cent longer electric running.
The new Toyota Prius is based on the second-generation TNGA platform. This modern setup gives good levels of refinement and, with double wishbone suspension at the rear, a high level of driving sophistication. Toyota says it’s more responsive in corners and more settled when cruising. The new Toyota Prius PHEV features Toyota E-Four all-wheel drive, for better traction and more stability on slippery roads.
