Great to see someone using a stove top rather than an instant pot for a change. Recipes using the stove pot will be well appreciated.

Anyone else have a phobia of pressure cookers? Or just me 😩

THANK YOU for explaining it so well. I am one of those who never learned how to cook growing up so I am learning now and always wanted to try using a pressure cooker but I'm just too afraid to do so... now I am more confident that I can do it safely. Great job!

Practical tip: add two centimeters of water before you heat the pot, and add boiling water from the kettle. You can also lower the heat /turn it down by a quarter once steam starts escaping from the valve /and the pressure indicator has popped up. Then start your timing for the cooking process

Thanks for this tutorial. My mum gave me a stove pressure cooker which I have been terrified to use! I have the instant Crock pot and the scariest part is when the pressure starts building up, sounding louder and louder then abruptly stops. Just like my heart does in those moments.. 😭

I have been using a pressure cooker for years. My mother had one too. I wouldn't cook potatoes like that because a lot of the nutrients go into the water. I always steam vegetables in a basket inside the pressure cooker, using very little water at the bottom of the pan. The water does not touch the vegetables.

I been using mine for decades, absolutely fabulous for fresh veg.. best flavours and yes be careful, I'm here as seal is causing longer cooking times, hence this suggested video.👍💕

Hi, thanks for this video introduction. My question is whether you maintained the temperature setting of the hob at 9 for the entire 7 minutes or did you reduce the temperature at some point after the steam pressure was established? BTW I just noticed a comment saying you can reduce the heat by a quarter and then start the timer. How about what you do.? Part of this method is to save energy right?

My mum cooked everything in a pressure cooker.
I was always scared of it.
Now that our Government have stitched us up by increasing energy prices on purpose, I can't wait to use one.
Thanks for the video. X

I love the wideness of the cooker. I wish they were all wide, it's perfect cooking.

Thanks, I think ppl in the UK will all be scrabbling about in the back of their cupboards for their pressure cookers now that the power costs have doubled. I know I have. Will be trying chick peas, quinoa and wheatberries in mine to begin with.

I bought one of these and decided to make some beef bone broth/stock. Trouble is I have never used a pressure cooker before and couldn't see the small print on the instruction manual so discovered your video, hahahaha thanks.

Good tutorial! What is also important is that you always polish the lid with a metal polish. If there are fingerprints on the lid and the lid heats up, the fingerprints will burn in and over time the pot will no longer look nice.
