Using plasic containers, the kind you see in the video, rope, medium or heavy duty plastic tarp and thick 38mm diameter plastic pipe, you can make your own swimming pool.
There are two ways to set this up.
Option 1
You can attach the containers in pairs using a rope, and then set them up in a circle. Tie a piece of rope from one opposing pair to another, to keep them in the desired distance. Tie similar pieces of rope to all opposing pairs, forming a star shape and also forming the wall of the pool.
Take the pipe and secure it on top of the pairs to form the top of the wall. This will aslo be the part that will take the forces of the water, keeping the containers in place at the same time.
The ground should be totaly level and free of any debris and rocks or anything sharp that may cause damage to the liner. A good idea is to set up small rags and carpets under the liner, to form a protective layer.
Then take the tarp and lay it inside, so that the sides are high enough to cover the pipe. Secure the tarp with improvised clips made out of pieces of the same pipe, cut longitudinaly to form a "C" clamp.
Fill it with water and happy diving.
Option 2
Take the containers, set them up veriticaly, and run a rope through them, at the bottom, so that they are all connected together, to form the cirlce and the wall at the same time. Run a second rope inside them, this time through the top part of the containers, to keep them secured at the top, and also take the forces of the water.
Now line the tarp inside the formed pool, making sure any sharp pieces of the containers are covered with a protective under layer or carpet.
In this set up, the liner doesn't need to be secured in any way, because it has nowhere to go. The weight of the water will keep the liner in place, and it won't slip inside.
Fill the pool with water, and get ready to party in the hot summer days.
The same set up can also be made out of wooden pallets. There are other videos on youtube explaining the proceadure. That option is also applicable.
Make sure the ropes are heavy duty, so that they can stand the forces, and if you happen to have heavy duty load straps, the kind used to secure the load in trucks, you can use that to secure the wall of the pool.
Also, use rope instead of metal wire, to avoid piercing the liner.
A glass of chlorine will keep the water usable for days. Of course, you can allways install a filtering system if you wish.
The choice is yours and there are countless ideas.
