edroom Design Mistake You Don't Want To Make Part #1: Placement of your bed. Your bed should be the focal point, a real feature, since it's the largest piece of furniture in the room. Design the space so that the bed fits nicely on a main wall with side tables. Layer in decorative elements like an accent wall with wallpaper like we've done here in our Burlington client's home or by using a dramatic paint colour. Add lighting for ambiance and function. If you place your bed on a wall with windows, be sure the treatments aren't covered up by the bed. Opt for roman blinds as opposed to drapery.
