I never realized that a historical figure could be so fascinating, but you managed to capture my interest. Great review-it’s been fun watching you cruise through and your process. Thank you!

🙋‍♂Hi Lisa! Sorry for delay of my comment, but was in the Hospital from the 16 through the 22 of February. ❤Loved the Q&A nicely done and enjoyed your personal take on the book itself. Looking forward to your next read.📖 Kudos from NYC.🗽

Lisa, love your wrap-ups of non fiction books. I acquired The Romanoves based on your big book recommendation vid a while back. Would you consider sharing how you prepare yourself for big books and how you digest them? They seem to intimidate me and it takes me forever to get started with those. That would be so very helpful!
Thank you for all your hard work with your channel!

I don't have an interest in reading that book but I really enjoyed listening to you talk about it.

Wow, all done Lisa! I think it's tragic how Napoleon died, sadder that he died alone and away from France. It's irony really, the great Alexander's conquests ended when he died from a 'fever', think, along way from home, in another of his Kingdoms and Julius Caesar's life and ambitions ended when he was murdered in Rome. They all had tragic endings, even though they were great men . . .you can't evade the end when it comes. Great men rise and then they fall!

I really enjoyed your in-depth review of Napoleon. I also enjoy exploring the lives of historical figures but so far I’ve done it mostly through historical fiction. One biography I did enjoy reading was that of Nelson Mandela in A Long Walk To Freedom. I would highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed your journey reading this book and taking a deep dive into the other characters (particularly women) in the book. I am currently reading a memoir of Lithuanian resistance fighter, diplomat and writer Czeslaw Milosz that takes place from 1911 and 1959 in Eastern Europe (mostly) I have had a map open to that region of the world and a tab open to Wikipedia to consult as I read along. There is something so satisfying in immersing yourself into a different time and perspective I hope to see more of these types of videos from you if you are so inclined

Thank you for your videos. My area of interest with history is the medieval era and I have some huge tomes to get through. I am going to do character studies on the women there thanks to your inspiration.

I found your review of Napoleon fascinating. I'm encouraged to tackle a non-fiction historical figure and have begun reading Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow.

Oh my I think it's extraordinary that you knocked this tome over in just a few weeks! And you haven't had your fill of Napoleon. He definitely has an enduring legacy and place in France. I remember my first visit to Paris in 1998, I was asking a taxi driver about the system of the lights indicating the taxi was free, and how to hail one more easily - anyway I didn't fully understand his answer, but it definitely started with Napoleon! Did you sneak in any nonNapoleon reading? I can't imagine that you had time.
