As much as I agree, the second or incorrectly rigged bait mimics the shape of a shrimp and presents a slower profile which stays in the strike zone as little longer. I’d use it like that fishing shallow water where fish are a little skittish about too much movement.

When everyone is rigging the "right" way. I rig the "wrong" way. Always rig properly until your results say otherwise.

Can this soft plastic be used in saltwater?

Lets be realistic. Is there really a right or wrong when it comes to rigging a bait. Entirely too many variables when it comes to fishing. Ive had days when you experience both extremes. Cant get bit no matter how you rig a bait that worked great an hour ago. An hour later you can rig a cigarette butt to a hook and catch the best fish of the day. Everybodys an expert when it comes to fishing these days.

Are there different type of hooks that could be a different and proper presentation? I mean I’m not no way a bass master I catch fish, but I would never rig my plastic like that no maybe in a lake or a pond where everything you throw in there they hit😮 but I would use a number 4/0 weedless rigged, and just pop it and let it fall on its own, and when you have different bottoms, instead of a pool, you can actually see the true action because there’s no way for that water to move it stays still so unless you got a fan or a motor under the water pushing current around the pool you’re not seeing the true action😊

The curved one has bad action too. Moves nothing like a fish or anything else thats alive. Fish are dumb but they won't be fooled by that.

I get more bites when I let the curve be there the Wilder the action the quicker the bite this guy is just wrong
