A master craftsman, doing it for all the right reasons. People like Patrick are life-enhancing.

I've had the privilege of spending time in Pat's workshop (and had several from the old Coventry factory too back in the day) and play three of these beautiful instruments on stage and in the studio. I have many other guitars with names that begin with G and F, but these PJE masterpieces are the only ones i take out now.

Super video, fellas - so pleased I checked out Friday Fretworks this week. Off to make a pot of tea now so I can watch episodes 1 & 2.
Been following PJE’s career ever since Guitarist magazine reviewed the first Climaxe. Weird thing, I think we may have grown up a few street (& a few short years) apart, & gone to the same primary school in Hertfordshire. Lusted after but couldn’t afford a 22 fret Berlin for months, & then met him at a London Guitar Show when the Los Angeles & New York models were introduced. Fell in love again with a bright yellow New York (still no money, tho’) and finally, finally bought a 1993 New York Plus.
What a talented guy. Sad he’s not currently making acoustics, but my goodness, how fine his current electrics look & sound!

Wonderful insight into Pat's guitar building philosophy. I just purchased a Macon and I can feel the care that went into it both when I look at the guitar as well as when I play it!!! Thank you Pat for your dedication..

Nice to hear from Patrick, I unfortunately missed him at a guitar show last year while he wasn't at the stand for a while. Been wanting to ask about the Eggle amplifier and which seems to have been designed and made around the time he left the bigger company who then didn't take it into production. I have one (sounds great) but know little about it.

I'm looking forward to this. The brand first started off in Coventry, not far away from where I used to go to school. I've always taken an interest in Patrick's guitars ever since. I'm looking forward to this.

One of the guitars you made for UB40s Matt Doyle almost got broken at the Blues ground gig on Eadter Monday. The photographer caught it with his camera strap and pulled it over.

That’s what it’s like you build your first guitar from scratch then look at it thinking I can do that better pull of all the bits burn the wood and build another, buy a few more tool and before you know it your 20 guitars in a workshop / garden shed full of expensive tools and machines and completely obsessed. I started late in my 30s bud been a cabinet maker all my working days always wanted to build a guitar sense I started working with wood . It’s just part of my life now I still work on the bench at a joinery and build in my free time even sold a few . I get plenty of nice offcuts from work for my builds 😁
