Costochondritis Pain Relief | My Experience

preview_player
Показать описание
Costochondritis is a condition in which this cartilage that attaches your ribs to your breastbone becomes irritated and inflamed. Costochondritis can be very painful and sometimes debilitating. I have had a few experiences where I went to the hospital because I was in so much pain from this condition. I had issues with costo for many years they figured out what was causing my symptoms and pain. Once I found the BackPod, my life changed. I am in no way promoting the BackPod but I do believe it works if it is costochondritis you are dealing with. As always, please consult a doctor before trying anything new.

My name is Samantha Wayne and I have been creating advocacy videos on YouTube since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

Literally the worst persistent pain I have ever experienced, I’ve had plenty of injuries but always felt able to do something, this is completely debilitating, never felt so depressed

I hap hip surgery in 2016 and had all sorts of back/hip/shoulder pain and joint pain. I just found out I've had costochondritis causing debilitating pain. So amazing to find treatments for this and amazing that the 50 doctors and 15 physical therapist couldn't diagnose this for me. Thanks for sharing your story

I got diagnosed with costocondritis right after I got over being sick with Rhinovirus for an entire week. I had to miss work and stay at home and rest. I’m hoping this pain ends I’ve never felt so miserable before in my life 😩

I just got diagnosed with Costo along with Pleurisy. I vaped for 3-4 years and stopped about 3 weeks ago. About 3 days after quitting vaping, the left side of my chest started hurting subtlety and then got worse over the course of a week. Finally, I went to the ER and they did an EKG along with blood work and a chest XRAY. To rule out any serious heart/lung related issues. Doc diagnosed it as Pleurisy and Costo....yaaaay! Its very painful. My pain is more under my armpit and spreads to my back. Ive had it for about 2 weeks now. We are on steroids and Nsaids but i dont think those are working. Im also a Plumber who does alot of physical labor and stuff. Age 34. It can be debilitating. But, we are alive my friends. And we will get through this. It could be worse.

I got this horrible condition from knitting! I sat in an easy chair, with my feet propped up, holding my knitting out in front of me, and hunched over a bit. Sitting frozen in that position for hours a day for months caused costochondritis so bad that I had to quit knitting. Now I'm taking measures to heal it and prevent it in the future.

This is something I need to talk to my doctor about. I have been having the pain you just described. I did set up an appointment, so hopefully they can pin point what exactly is causing the pain.

OMG I’ve never met anyone else that has this problem. First time I had this pain I was 13=years old. Ended up in the hospital for about a week until they figured out what it was. This so something in won’t even wish in my worst enemy. This pain is life changing. I’ve never experienced such despair from pain.

Thank you for sharing! It helps a lot...For me, all happened last september. I really thought it was a panic attack..., or something wrong with my heart. Went to all the doctors: heart, lung CT, Ekg, pulmonary function test, blood test, etc... could not find really nothing. They started telling me that it is all because of the stress in my life. then i started searching and that is how i found costo...finally :) i went to see a physical therapist and she sad costo after 2 minutes checking my chest, ribs...the hardest part for me is the problem with breathing...sometimes i have to yawn in order to get enougn . it feels like something is stoping my breathing...very bad experience...just trying to order the back pod. Thank you again...it is good ( i know it sounds odd :) ) to read these stories, not to feel alone....the doctors just didnt do anything with it....
hope everybody gets well

I had chest pain come out of nowhere. I did quite a bit of research and found that in my case it was deferred pain from my gallbladder. You can feel this pain across your chest, back, shoulder and up into your neck. I felt it mostly in my breastbone and around my heart. As soon as I started supporting my gallbladder, no more chest pain, back pain, shoulder pain... Hope this helps someone in pain! I read a lot of medical books, scientific studies and used Dr. Berg as a resource as well as consulting my own GP.

Had the paramedics round as they always check you for heart attack, luckily for me one of the lovely ladies had suffered with costo and rang a doctor to prescribe a strong antiinflammatory and had it sent to my local pharmacy
The pain was soon under control, its a pain you'll never forget

On this journey right now to figure out how to heal my costo which became onset out of nowhere this past summer of 2022. It can be quite debilitating and worrisome when it onsets. I get it on and off... when I am on my menstrual period, it just goes away. Have you ever heard of this, Samantha?

Today I got a massage from an RMT which helped a lot, as well as some yoga stretches. But overall im so bummed out because of the pain and worry :(

I am hoping i can heal this problem :( and really hoping i dont have an autoimmune disease. I have never had issues like this in my life... I take care of myself really well and going down this journey of trying to navigate the medical industry is daunting.

How often would it bother you? For me it’s daily but more uncomfortable than anything. Maybe once a day I would get a small pain that won’t last long. But it’s been two months now and my cardio has rules out my heart. And what worked for you to treat it?

Thank you. I will try it and let you know if it will make the pain disappear

I have been struggling with it for 3 and a half years non stop. It was caused as a result from gymnastics and contortion. I currently use opioids to manage the pain (it’s the only medication I have found to work with pain relief) I use heat to ease the pain but find that cold makes it worse. I definitely think seeing a chiropractor and Phisio is very beneficial and doing exercise for costo can help but be careful not to overdo it as it can make it worse.
