In the beginning of my tour, I was an M-60 gunner. I loved my gun. I could shoot through trees. During an advance up a mountain I carried it like a rifle with a hundred round assault bag. I was strong then...Airborne All the Way.

Fighting in a jungle where there's traps everywhere and the enemies are hiding is wild.

They probly didn't see you but they sure as hell probly heard you. Machine gunners are often highly targeted on the battlefield

This is exactly the reason why I don’t carry an automatic pistol for Protection.

When I pull the trigger on my revolver, it goes bang.

When I think of pulling the trigger on a semi automatic, there is always the concern, “I hope it doesn’t jam.“

Of course automatic have improved a lot over the years and there are a lot fewer jams. But it doesn’t matter if it’s in one chance in 10 of jamming or one chance in 1000 of jamming, I don’t want that one chance in 1000.

that’s just one old man’s opinion.

I'm a patriot don't get me wrong
But I don't like the term bad guys.. sounds like a cop. They are simply the enemy. They weren't Nazis
