10 Creepy Advancements in Soft Robotics

Soft robotics is a sort of sub-genre of robotics where the machines are not made of stiff metals and plastic but soft, pliable materials that mimic flesh and muscle, although not always in the human sense. Some of what has been created under that banner are exceptionally weird.

Of all the weirdest things they could have picked to sort of re-animate, they chose a bloody spider that most of the world harbours an instinctive fear of on some level. Just a quick word … Data is an android, not a robot. He is sentient, intelligent beyond compare. Robots, as we know them, aren’t self aware. Yes, Data is a fictional character, but the possibility of creating an android is in the future. We can thank Star Trek for cell phones, tablets, and many more modern inventions.
