I think it’s kinda funny when people are amazed at “advanced technology” existing forever ago because it’s assumed that ancient people couldn’t do it. Why not? We don’t know everything about who they were. My thought is we’ve risen and fallen so many times, we in the current world may not even be the smartest iteration of civilization, all things considered.

Personally I think the London Hammer and the Coso Artifact are tied. I also think you're half right except instead of getting stuck, I think it malfunctioned somewhere mid-travel and broke up, spreading its contents all across space-time. The real question is how does a 1930's champion sparkplug apply to time travel?
