You could do that, or you could bang the incubus, progress the story, and once you grab the hammer, which turns the entire house of hope against you, you are free to disarm the platform and steal the amulet with no problem.

Funner fact. The restoration pool can be used repeatedly. Use it to spam summons and give every buff under the sun to your party AND summons before you fight anything.

I mean by this point there's really no incentive to be sneaky since the only reason you're there is to nick the hammer anyway

I didn't even know it was trapped. I just grabbed it after the hammer.

I just disarmed it while in stealth. Walked away from it bc I noticed they didn't even react. Then in stealth took all the items on the pedestals. Easy peasy. No check needed. At least then I played.
I also made sure to avoid supposition to have all other teammates far away from the item I was about to take.
Idk if they would have accused me of taking it.
But the most fun thing was after I had taken the amulet I had Lizel wear it and they didn't react. I thought they defenetly would. But nope.

This story ark is one of the most fun in the entire game. Amazing items and treasure and escape sequence and boss battle.

You can also go into turn based, take it, and put the other item on after. As long as you don’t exit turn based, time doesn’t pass and the trap doesn’t activate

This amulet was the last piece of my main paladin. Respecced him to the lowest Constitution I could and used the points elsewhere, then maxed it with the amulet.
Became an absolute monster. Regularly soloing large groups of enemies after the rest of the party was dead.

Yes, that is typically how presure plates work in BG3. Place a heavy enough object on it to activate it or prevent the trap from going off when you take what was on there.

Wait, they actually implemented the ol' Indiana Jones pressure plate trick? That's fricken incredible.

A lot of comments are saying that it doesn't matter because there's gonna be a big fight regardless, but I think that just makes it cooler that Larian even bothered with this little bit of homage.
