If you really want to buy a car in Mexico you can! No matter what people tell you! It is possible and there are more than one way to do it!

We spend over a month checking out all the options and this was the simplest option we found although it may or may not be the most legal

Possible is not the same as legal. A fake tarjeta de circulación is not going to be entered into the system and you screwed yourself if you get in an accident or are pulled over with a fake registration. I’vve lived in Mexico for over 5 years, have registered 3 different vehicles and if it took only 5 minutes…it’s counterfeit.
