I can't thank you enough for your work at helping us navigate buying a car. I've been watching for a few months now. We just purchased a car, negotiated to a good price, got good rates, and walked out without all the add ons. SUCCESS!!! I am shaking your hand (virtually) right now. You don't know how we appreciate you!!! ❤😊

I've tried some of your techniques, and no lie, it worked, I got a vehicle for the price I needed it at because of my budget. I was nervous, I tried the techniques, I had to walk out because of the shenanigans, 2 days the sales manager call me and said we can do what your asking. No money down, I actually had the finance guy taking off the window etched crap, the lugs, I pay $55 for the doc fee after negotiating it, took the gap off, approximately 2300 in add one off. I felt impowered. Thank you guys.

These guys are the real deal!! Best car buying tips on YouTube. I went in to purchase a 2021 Honda accord and kept bugging about them giving me a out the door price, I told them I had already been approved by my local credit union and to show me the contract on all the extra add one. Sales manager asked me if I had worked at a dealer before because of all the in and out I had on how dealerships operate. I dint want out with the vehicle I wanted but this just goes to show how much these guys rip people off. Thank you CarEdge for all that you for the community.

I went and looked at a "pre owned" lexus the other day. Advert price was a "no haggle" $ 35900 and had 38, 000 miles. Sounded good. Everything was going well untill I asked for the OTD price. Besides the tax tag and title fees they added "paint protection" $600 and a "dealer adjustment" of $999. They would not budge
Seems their "no haggle" price meant I could not haggle.. I walked..

I've always had a different approach to car buying. My number one thing is to make sure I REALLY want the car I'm buying. If I like the car, and it's solid, I can keep it and be happy with it for 10-15 years or longer, so I don't take as much of a hit on depreciation as I would if I bought a new car every 5 years or so. At least, that's how I see it.

Back in the mid 80’s when I was going to trade school my teacher told us…..make a payment to yourself every month that you would be making to the bank.
Then go out and buy you a new/ good used car and start the process over again.

It was good advice then…..and good advice now! My teacher retired to a very comfortable life using that kind of money sense.

I’m now 56 with no bills, a very nice savings, three retirement plans, a Union pension and a lot of that was because of his advice when I was 20!

The financial institutions of this country get rich …. off you being broke!!!!

I will be buying my next new car in Mexico! Of course it pays to now be a resident. The advertised price is the actual price out the door as it includes the taxes in the amount. I wish that the USA would do the same.

Actually dealt with a dealer in FL today about a 2019 Ram Big horn. They advertised one price, and when they sent me the quote there was over 4000 of add ons that the sale rep wanted to say were "required" by law. These were not the registration, tax or title. I even researched the state of FL and required fee's and found that it is actually illegal in FL for dealers to "add on" to a quote dealer prep fee's as they have to be included in the advertised price. You're guys knowledge helped me keep cool and collected and quite honestly push the sales rep back on their heals when i gave them my OTD and explaining why. Needless to say they came back with "the truck just sold" sure it did! Keep up the great work you two!

This is exactly what I delt with 3 years ago buying my Tacoma. Local Toyota dealership wanted to sell at msrp and add junk like pinstripes, door edge guards, door cup guards, nitrogen tires, ceramic coating and more. When they would not negotiate off msrp, take off the dealer add ons or even tell what interest rates the proposed loans were I left. I found a dealership in a nearby state that negotiated a fair OTD worked with my lender and all via email and phone. We meet when the truck came in it was a smooth easy transaction. All that extra stuff like tint and all you can usually add yourself later when you are in charge of what and how is done to your liking and often for less.

Car dealers hate me. I buy two new cars (wife and I) every couple years and the first thing they ask is what kind of monthly am I looking for. You can see the change in them immediately when I tell them I'm not concerned with monthly it's the out-the-door price I'm interested in working on. However, I mistakenly would tell them I was probably a cash buyer unless there was some incentive to finance (because I would just pay it off right away anyway.) Next time, I'm going to have to be sneakier about my cash options. But I have found most get excited if you tell them you plan to put like $10k down.

OMG yes!!! Years ago I inquired via website a VW dealership in Greenville NC and asked for OTD on 2 different cars I was interested in. They kept calling me back over and over asking me dumb questions and telling me that I need to come in. I kept telling them that their website stated to contact us for pricing. But miraculously they never could give me a price. They kept saying they would have to check with the manager and get back to me. I bet they called me 6 or 7 times for a week or two. It was so stupid. One guy even sort of interrogated me over and over as to why I was asking about 2 different cars. Ridiculous! I went to another dealership and got a sweet Impala.

I just want to say thank you for your awesome work and help. I was able to use all of your tips to get the exact deal I was looking for on a new vehicle for my wife. I was able to handle and maintain all the leverage throughout the whole negotiation process even despite the salesman getting his supervisor. It did take us walking away from the deal after a few "no's" and salesman not wanting to remove all of the bogus fees. They literally called us back as I was 5 minutes away from the dealer after having respectfully walked out.

OTD or OTR as it is known in the Uk is always a chunk more than the MSRP or even any discounted price.
How many buyers take the time to read and check why there is a big difference before agreeing to the sale,
very few and this is where a salesman can earn a nice extra bonus from you.
Having learned the hard way over the years, i now have the courage to just say no thank you and walk out,
if they come running after you, then you might be able to renegotiate an acceptable deal, if they don't just keep
walking.

Great video. Very helpful. Keep up the great work. Am car shopping right now. I've experienced a lot of what you've shared. Can't get a straight answer from a lot of these folks. Good to know it's easy to just pass on them, saving myself the hassle. Thanks for the great vid.
