HARD TAKE: A lot of people feel life is meaningless because they are selfish, thinking only of how they feel and not about the collective. We are all suffering in ways but life is definitely not meaningless. Its about serving others or more than just yourself.. That means a lot.

8:35 Incorrect! Absurdism doesn't have anything against attachments. This might have been a misinterpretation of Camus when he said we must live without appeal. His "Absurd Man" is able to live without hope, yet doesn't despair. Camus says to reject false hopes like religious salvation, cosmic justice or invented meaning.

Despair comes from expecting meaning and not finding it. Camus says to stop expecting. Once you accept that life has no higher purpose, you are no longer disappointed by its silence.

He is not saying to emotionally detach from everything. He is saying live richly, emotionally, become attached, be human, live in spite of the death of God! I just wrote a whole article on this so its still on the forefront of my mind lol
