Speed up Slow SSD

Press the Windows key + X and select "File Explorer" from the menu that appears.

In the File Explorer window, right-click on "This PC" and select "Properties".

In the Properties window, select "Tools" and then click on "Optimize".

The Optimize Drives window will appear. Here, you can see a list of all your drives.

Find your SSD in the list, select it, and then click on "Optimize".

The tool will then start the optimization process. This may take some time depending on the size of your SSD and the amount of data on it.

Remember, SSDs use a different method of managing data than traditional hard drives, and the 'Optimize' tool will use the TRIM command for SSDs instead of disk defragmentation. The TRIM command helps the system know which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally.

Also, keep in mind that excessive optimization isn't necessary for SSDs and can potentially shorten their lifespan. Windows 10 should automatically optimize your SSDs every week, but if you're experiencing issues, a manual optimization can help.

If you're still experiencing slow performance after optimization, it may be worth checking the health of your SSD or considering other factors such as your system's RAM, processor speed, and software that may be slowing down your system.

To summarize, do not defrag an SSD
Defragmenting is not recommended for solid state drives. At best, it won't do anything to help get a faster SSD drive, at worst, it will use up write cycles. If you have already defragged your SSD a few times, it won't harm your SSD. However, it's not a practice you should continue

Please sorry if i interrupt in your video but you are not supposed to defrag your ssd. They were made in such a way that all related pieces of data are not scattered.

People in this comment section have 0 knowledge of what he’s doing. He’s not defragging it, it’s trimming it.

1. "do not defragment ssds!" It's written "optimize", not "defrag", don't yall know how to read ?
2. Windows does that periodically (every week by default) so this tip is useless unless you have disabled it from the same menu in which case you didn't needed the tip

Guys DO NOT do this. Defragging your SSD is completely useless and it wont do anything. It might even harm it. Only do this if you have a HDD. However, it looks like that he's TRIMming the SSD, which will make it more efficient. It's not really useful if you have a new and good computer but it's a fine practice

thats a trim optimization not a defragging ...

Defragmentation of SSD breaks it. Only defragment HDD.

this only works for HDD. you should never ever defrag SSD

This doesn't work on ssd, ssd already do this in a automatic way.

yes faster way to make your ssd useless

Actually, this works on HDD disks, which is pretty useful since HDDs are slower than SSD

yeah speeding up the degradation of the memory chip

[WARNING]: Do not let's groofy tiktok or youtube shorts are tricking you

Never defragment your SSD this is very serious and dangerous if you're using SSD but only on HDD because HDD are 10 time slower or more than SSD
