Learn how to see SSD speeds on Windows 11

In Windows 11 you can check the performance of your SSD by simply using the Terminal app. You will see the read and write speeds of your solid state drive.

Command to See Speeds from Main Drive
winsat disk

Command to Show Speeds for Specific Drives
winsat disk -drive ...

(replace periods with drive letter)

If you prefer to use an app, you can use CrystalDiskMark and ATTO benchmark to see how fast your solid state drive is.

Download CrystalDiskMark

Download ATTO Benchmark

Very useful, and straight to the point. Just installed a new NVME SSD and gave me a 6800mb/s and 5750mb /s speed test which is exactly as advertised.

Great video thanks for the help (for anyone else who read between the lines, start the CMD prompt in admin mode or it'll close when finished)

I'm not sure if you still reply to comments on this video, but when i tried this, it said that the kernel logger failed to start. Do you have any idea why this might happen?

winsat disk -drive d > c:\result.txt .. so you can just keep the results instead of dealing with an auto closing window

8/10 video

-2 points for deafening, annoying, and inappropriately squeaky sound effects. Please don't do that.
