this is genuinely the best “teen romance” movie of all time. its fun, was casted perfectly, and the relationships feel genuine (not even just the romantic relationships but the friendships too).

I wouldn't call this simping. Cameron called Bianca out on her bs, and vice versa throughout the movie. But they had each other's backs when it came to other's being antagonistic towards them. Cameron didn't put up with people dissing Bianca, Bianca didn't put up with that bully attacking Cameron.

Simping to me is when a guy with no self-esteem, and doesn't see the value in himself, panders to women in the desperate hope that they will adore him for it, not realizing that those women either pity him, or see him as pathetic.
